Hi igers, please beware of this new Instagram phishing scam!
Fraudsters are sending phishing emails pretending to be Instagram officials, asking page owners to verify their accounts to get the blue checkmark.
In these scammy emails, the Instagram users are asked to hand in their selfies along with pictures of other personal identities to verify their accounts. They are even asked to submit their email address and the password used to login into their Instagram account.
Remember, Instagram will NOT ask you to reveal your personal information and login credentials through email! If you are asked to provide password, it is definitely a phishing scam.
Please always check before you take any action. Contact the Instagram official in person for the legitimacy of the email. Or send the screenshot to Trend Micro Check chatbot for immediate scam detection.
